6/14 & 6/15/12 Flag Day Celebration

FLAG DAY CELEBRATION

The first celebration of Flag Day involved 300,000 public school children on June 14th, 1894 in Chicago, Illinois.  The 2012 Hutchinson celebration involves 97 piano players at First United Methodist Church, 101 E. 1st on June 14th and 15th.  The Multiple Keyboards-Multiple-Hands concert will be a Potpourri of Piano Pizzazz as all eight keyboards are played simultaneously often by 16 players and sometimes by 24.

The public is invited to join the musicians and members of Hutchinson Area Piano Teachers Association, a nonprofit organization, in celebrating June 14th with music that is lively and silly, moving and patriotic but mostly just plain fun.

Thursday, June 14th performance will begin at 6:00 p.m. and tickets may be purchased at the door for $3.00.   Friday, June 15th performance will begin at 7:00 p.m.  tickets are available by  calling 662-4983 to reserve at the door.

“WAY TO GO” messages may be ordered by calling 669-0550.  They should be kept to fewer than 15 words and will be printed in the program.
